Hello and welcome to kencongemi.com. I have been involved in figure skating for over 40 years and in that time I have certainly learned a lot about this amazing sport. I feel blessed that I love my career and truly enjoy all aspects of figure skating, especially inspiring my students each day! Creating a web site has been in the back of my mind for a long time and I am thrilled to bring this idea to life.

One day, I was working with a group of east coast skaters who come to Los Angeles to work with me each year. At the end of the week, their coach told me that her students had learned so much from me but she wished that there was a way for them to work with me on a more consistent basis. Unfortunately, it wasn't feasible for them to come to LA more than once a year so we talked about a few ideas including me doing a seminar for them. Although they gladly accepted the idea of a seminar, it wasn't exactly the optimal solution. She was looking for a way for me to stay in touch with her and her students so that I could reinforce the techniques and ideas that I shared with them while they trained with me in LA.

I began thinking about current technology....iTunes, youtube etc. and I came up with an idea which would enable me to continue mentoring her students without either of us having to leave home! My website was born!
